The Boston Red Sox will take their six-game winning streak into Philadelphia to take on the defending NL champions.
One player who will be extra excited to play in this series is Red Sox outfielder Masataka Yoshida.
He signed with the Red Sox from Japan this offseason and is currently one of the best hitters in baseball.
Throughout his time in Japan, Yoshida became a fan of one MLB superstar.
He is a massive fan of Bryce Harper.
This will be the first time the two get to face off in MLB.
According to Baseball Brit, Yoshida named his dog “Harper” and they have matching jerseys.
Masataka Yoshida will hope to meet his favourite MLB player today when the Red Sox play the Phillies.
Yoshida’s former Orix Buffaloes teammate, Adam Jones (@SimplyAJ10), even got the player to send a signed jersey to 🇯🇵 for Yoshida’s dog, who is called…

Many Japanese baseball players are fans of their MLB counterparts.
We saw that when Japan took part in the World Baseball Classic.
There should be a moment at some point this weekend when Yoshida can meet his favorite player.
Harper is back playing but only as a designated hitter.
As previously stated, Yoshida has been on a tear of late.
He is riding a 14-game hitting streak and hitting a .451 over the last 13 games.
The 29-year-old rookie struggled to adjust to the MLB over his first few weeks.
But, since then he seems ready to make a strong run at American League Rookie of the Year.
