The Dallas Mavericks pulled off what seemed to be an impossible comeback last night.

They were trailing the visiting New York Knicks by 9 points with 33.9 seconds left in the game.

Then, Luka happened.

The Slovenian superstar pulled off another heroic performance to force overtime and then get a hard-fought 126-121 comeback win, putting up 60 points, 21 rebounds, and 10 dimes.

It was the first-ever game of this kind.

That’s why NBA analyst Nick Wright believes that performance for the ages already ranks among the greatest in league history, on the same tier as Wilt Chamberlain‘s 100-point game and Kobe Bryant‘s 81-point explosion:

“60-21-10 on 67% while also perfectly executing the ‘missed free throw, get the rebound, make the put back’ to force OT absolutely puts that in the running for greatest regular season performances in NBA history, alongside Wilt’s 100 & Kobe’s 81.

Impossible what Luka just did60-21-10 on 67% while also perfectly executing the “missed free throw, get the rebound, make the put back” to force OT absolutely puts that in the running for greatest regular season performances in NBA history, alongside Wilt’s 100 & Kobe’s 81.

Impossible what Luka just did,” Wright tweeted.

Impossible, indeed.

Prior to yesterday, teams trailing by at least 9 points with 30 seconds left on the clock were 0-13,884 in the past 20 seasons, as per ESPN Stats & Info.

And while Tom Thibodeau and the Knicks need to take a hard look in the mirror and wonder how on Earth they were able to blow such a lead, we have to give credit where it’s due.

Luka was simply phenomenal.
