The Carolina Panthers are back to making coaching changes again during the 2022 season.

After an embarrassing loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, the Panthers shook things up again with their coaching staff.

So what is going on with their coaching staff after Sunday’s loss?

Panthers Fire Two Defensive Coaches After They Gave Up 42 Points

The Panthers defense was an embarrassment on Sunday, as they gave up 42 points.

However, five of the touchdowns they allowed were by one player, Joe Mixon.

With their defense having no answers for this one player, the Panthers fired two of their defensive coaches.

The firing of defensive line coach Paul Pasqualoni and cornerback coach Evan Cooper leaves a gap for the team to fill.

With the Panthers’ season in shambles, it doesn’t appear like they will hire anyone to fill these vacancies this season.

Instead, the team is having their current slate of coaches take on these roles for the season.

Pasqualoni, who was hired this season, will now see his position being taken over by Don Johnson and Terrance Knighton.

Both coaches, who already have other coaching duties on defense, will share the duty of defensive line coach.

The Panthers will also split the cornerback coaching role between Bobby Maffei and Al Holcomb.

This sends a signal that the Panthers’ 2022 season is already over.

While they have plenty of questions needing answers, those answers won’t come until next season.

For now, it’s all about shared responsibilities for these defensive coaches in Carolina for the rest of the season.
