Even with Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole still struggling from the field, the Golden State Warriors were almost perfect in their Game 5 win over the Los Angeles Lakers.
Once again, Stephen Curry led the way with his incredible play, but it was a huge team effort to get the job done after dropping back-to-back games in Southern California.
When asked about his team’s performance, specifically about Draymond Green, Andrew Wiggins, and Gary Payton II, Steve Kerr had nothing but praise for his defensive specialists.

Kerr raved about Green’s aggressiveness as a scorer, citing that he makes them a much better team when his shot is falling.
The coach also praised Wiggins — who had arguably his best game since coming back from that personal absence — for staying ready and finally getting his legs back under him.
Kerr also lauded Gary Payton II’s elite defense and his ability to get out in transition as a scorer, and he looked more than satisfied with his team’s performance overall.
Still, the Warriors need Thompson and Poole to find their stride ASAP.
There’s no more margin for error for the reigning NBA champions.
Thompson is one of the greatest, most efficient shooters in the history of this league.
And while his defense continues to be solid, they need him knocking down shots to be at their best.
As for Poole, he can make up for his defensive miscues with his shot-making, but he doesn’t bring much to the table when his shot isn’t falling.
