One of the most surprising teams in the NFL last season was, without a doubt, the Seattle Seahawks, who were able to defy the odds, after making the questionable move to trade superstar quarterback Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos.

The Seahawks ultimately made the playoffs and saw a new star emerge in the form of veteran quarterback Geno Smith, who made the pro bowl for the first time in his NFL career and provided some hope for this franchise that seem to be headed toward a rebuilding process.

With the Seahawks very much in contention in the NFC heading into the 2023 NFL season, the team has been doing its due diligence to fill the roster with as much talent as possible in order to make some noise and get back to the playoffs.

According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the Seahawks made another move this week by signing a notable defensive end in the form of Mario Edwards to one year deal.

Edwards has bounced around the league a lot over the last few years with stints with the then-Oakland Raiders, New York Giants, New Orleans Saints, Chicago Bears, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Tennessee Titans.

Although Edwards’ career in the NFL has been anything but stable due to jumping from team to team every season, he has a chance to flourish in Seattle if the team is determined to improve on the defensive side of the football next season.

After an impressive showing with the Titans last year, as Fowler pointed out, Edwards may have a chance to start fresh in Seattle and make an impact under head coach Pete Carroll.
